Now Open Near The Kelvin: Basebowl, An Asian Fusion Eatery
20/01
Edamame dusted with flaky pink salt. Ahi tuna tartar topped with sweet wasabi soy sauce. White shrimp swathed in crispy ramen noodles. These are a few of the unusual apps you can expect to find on the menu at Basebowl, a new spot in DC that specializes in fusion Asian cuisine.
The small plates are just part of what the chef excels at! The eatery is really known for its ramen noodles—hence the name. Go with a classic like the signature bowl, teeming with pork chashu, aji-tama, mushrooms, greens, bamboo shoots, and seaweed, all swimming in a traditional tonkotsu broth. In the mood for something spicier? The Strike Out is unlike ramen from anywhere else, loaded with fiery Thai coconut green curry, Thai basil, and fried chicken. Other equally unique options include the Rapho rice noodle ramen, with beef brisket and a tomato-beef broth, and the Super Basebowl, loaded with ribeye, jumbo shrimp, and a fried egg. Basebowl is currently open for takeout, curbside pickup, and delivery, as well as limited indoor and outdoor dining.
